Big Eater Seafood Restaurant

Last visited: 19 April 2007

This is another Zhu Cha stall nearest to NTU and also City Harvest Church Main Building. I love the 月光河 (seafood hor fun with a raw egg) from this zhu cha ever it was recommended by my friend. It used to be crowded on weekends and some weekdays nights when the main service of CHC is held there. Yet after they were shifted to Expo Hall 8, their main customers are left with the students, and also the residents nearby. On weekend nights where there is English Soccer matches, the whole coffee shop is simply packed with Ah Beks in the middle of the night, roaring with cheers whenever there are goals or exciting stunts performed by any of the players. What a happening coffee shop!

Comments: The 月光河 is smooth and wet due to the presence of the raw egg. Sometimes, fried hor fun feels dried because of their stir-fried and oily nature. Hence, the egg kind of acts as a lubricant and enhance the texture of the hor fun. Nice!

Besides the zhu cha, the coffee shop also famous for its 鱼片面线 (fish slices mee suan). The soup taste just nice and the mee suan is not over- nor under-cooked. The fish are fresh and seasoned with a little peppery taste. It was a very popular food among the NTU students living nearby.
